How large is the lake?

Douglas Lake has over 550 miles of shoreline and was voted a top 10 fishing lake for crappie and bass.

Do you need a fishing license?

Yes.  A License can be purchased at major department stores such as Wal-Mart, K-mart and other smaller convenience stores.

Can you swim in the lake?

Conveniently located to action packed Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. It is a deep man-made lake and swimming is a favorite past-time here, at your own risk, of course.

How about boating?

All types of boats are used on Douglas Lake. There are no restrictions on horsepower or PWC’s at this time. However, you must obey all boating rules and regulations set by the Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency. Children 12 and under must wear a coast guard approved life vest at all times when a boat is under way.

Do you have a place for our boat when we trailer it there?

All lakefront homes have dock access at the homes.  Some units even have their own launch. Public access launches can be found near all of the units.  Please contact us for further information.

How close are you to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg?

Are your cabins fishing cabins?

No.  We have basic studio to luxurious 5 bedrooms homes available. All but 4 units are offered on the Mountains to Sea Vacation Rental program.  Each home is very different since they are located in various locations on the lake and are owned by different owners. 

Are the cabins lakefront?

All Douglas Lake homes are lakefront.  We offer Pretty Place only 3 miles from Dollywood in Pigeon Forge. This home is not lakefront. Cherokee Lake Overlook is located at but not on Cherokee Lake literally overlooking Cherokee Lake, The Clinch Mountain Range and Smoky Mountains.

What is in your cabins?

Please refer to each cabin page for specific amenities.  All utensils, pots an pans, bath towels and linens are provided. Satellite or Cable TV gives you multitudes of viewing options.  A phone for your convenience is provided with free local calls.  A starter supply of paper products, dish liquid, laundry soap, etc. is provided. 

Do the cabins have internet access?

If you need internet access, be sure to acquire a local access number from your home internet provider for Knoxville for all homes in Sevierville and Dandridge for all homes in Dandridge, TN. Sunset Cove has DSL for it's guests.

What do I need to bring?

Food, beach towels, floatation devices, life jackets, fishing gear, a good book, personal toiletries like soaps and shampoos. For longer stays, starter supplies provided in the cabin will run out. 

Are pets allowed?

Do you allow one night stays?

No. There are no exceptions to this policy.  We have minimum night stays that vary from season to season.  Due to the popularity of our lakefront homes in the summer, there is a 7 night minimum for all cabins 1 br or larger until the last 2 weeks in August. Sweet William and Iris allow 4 nights if you take a Friday and or Saturday night.  There is a minimum of 3 nights if you check in on Sunday, Monday or Tuesday.  Please check the availability calendar for the minimum night stays requirements for your dates.  We will fill in gaps of less than 7 nights in all cabins throughout the year.
